    thanks for writing. that's a great question, and I think it depends entirely on the individual. think of it this way, what would happen if everyone wanted to design video games for a career, then the people that bought the games found a way to get the games for free (aka steal), sales decline for over a decade, game design companies have to start making less games and are forced to fire people... that industry would be in decline and I wouldn't advise anyone get into it unless they felt so passionate about it that doing anything else isn't an option.
    Alternately, I think if all the bands out there that are making music to "get rich" would go away, music as a whole would vastly improve and become more about the artistry again.
    I know this is a roundabout answer... know that Full Sail is a really great school. Also know that the competition for a job once you leaver school is fierce and that you may be working for free for the first year or more and because it's a declining industry, job security isn't what it used to be.
    Saying that, the world still needs really talented recording engineers (there are a lot of bad ones), so if you feel like that's you go for it!
